Nathan-Beaulieu

BROSSARD - Head coach Michel Therrien provided an update on the health status of defenseman Nathan Beaulieu on Wednesday afternoon.

After taking an errant puck to the throat area during Tuesday night's contest against the Senators, Beaulieu left the game and was immediately transported to hospital for observation and to undergo tests. The 23-year-old Strathroy, ON native was hospitalized overnight, before being released Wednesday morning.
Therrien confirmed that Beaulieu would not be in the Canadiens' lineup on Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, though, as he'll continue to be evaluated by team medical staff.
Mark Barberio, who was called up from the AHL's St. John's IceCaps on Wednesday morning, will take Beaulieu's spot in the lineup against Carolina. Barberio will play alongside Greg Pateryn.
