As the members of the Avalanche enter Ball Arena, they will be virtually cheered on by athletes from multiple amateur hockey teams on a video conference. The jerseys from approximately 50 local associations will also be on display in the stands for the duration of the game.
Posters with the youth association logos from across the state will line the glass on the Avs' side of the ice in warmup. In addition, community relations will be spotlighting multiple community partners and efforts from throughout the team's 25 seasons with posters along the glass as well.
The special pregame ceremonies will be streamed live on the Avalanche's Facebook page. The ceremonies will include a unique opening video, alumni families from the Avs Better Halves Charity Brunch welcoming the team to the ice, "Let's Go Avs" chants from amateur hockey teams and more.
In conjunction with Hometown Hockey Night and Gender Equality Month, Colorado is hosting a Girls Growing The Game series ahead of the theme night from March 21-24. The series is designed to be a resource and gives tips both in person and virtually that are geared toward helping grow the women's game.
Along with Hometown Hockey Night, the Avalanche and Toyota will be hosting a beanie drive-thru on Sunday, March 28 from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. in the Tundra Parking Lot.The co-branded beanies will be given out while supplies last with the limit of one beanie per person.
Puck drop on Thursday is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
