Mikko Rantanen Nathan MacKinnon Gabriel Landeskog top line third jersey Dallas Stars 2018 November 24

Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar will reunite his trio of Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen tonight when the Avs host the Detroit Red Wings at Pepsi Center.
After the team's morning skate, Bednar noted the trio will be back together, while Colin Wilson will be with Carl Soderberg and J.T. Compher. Additionally, Derick Brassard will be on a combination with Tyson Jost and Matt Calvert.

"I really liked them and we have bounced them back together here over the last few games, I have really liked them," Bednar said of the Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen line. "We tried some different guys in there, and I feel like they are more dangerous as a threesome. Especially now when you have the addition of Brassard, who changes some things.
"Looking how we want to juggle our lines, we are going back to a line for me in the Wilson-Soderberg-Compher line that had real good success for us when we were on a bit of a downturn."
Bednar also added that Sheldon Dries will be back in the lineup, replacing Gabriel Bourque, and there will be no changes to Colorado's defense.
Semyon Varlamov was the first goaltender off the ice from the morning skate and is expected to start in net against Detroit. He had a 24-save shutout in Colorado's first meeting with the Red Wings this year, a 2-0 win on Dec. 2.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup. All forward combinations and defensive pairings are subject to change.
