Getting you set for Game 1

• The Stars and Flames meet in the 2022 Western Conference First Round, marking the third time the two clubs have faced off in a postseason series.
• The Stars have won both playoff series against the Flames, most recently registering a 4-2 series victory during the 2020 Western Conference First Round in Edmonton.
• In Calgary, the Stars hold a 1-2 all-time record with the lone win occurring in the 1981 NHL Semifinals on April 28, 1981 (W, 4-1). Tim Young recorded three points, with goals from Craig Hartsburg, Al MacAdam and Gordie Roberts. Gilles Meloche stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced.
• During the 2020 playoff series, Dallas rallied from a three-goal deficit in the first period of Game 6 and registered the next seven goals to record a series-clinching 7-3 win and advance to the 2020 Western Conference Second Round against the Colorado Avalanche.
Miro Heiskanen led all Stars with eight points (three goals, five assists) against the Flames, registering a +5 rating and averaging 27:28 time on ice.
Denis Gurianov led the club with six goals in six games against Calgary. His five points (four goals, one assist) in Game 6 tied a postseason franchise record for most points by a player in a single game.
Joe Pavelski notched six points (four goals, two assists) in six games, including a hat trick in Game 4 to help even the series, 2-2.
• Pavelski also faced the Flames in the 2008 Western Conference Quarterfinals, recording seven points (three goals, four assists) in seven games to help lead the San Jose Sharks to a 4-3 series win and advance to play the Stars in the 2008 Western Conference Semifinals.
John Klingberg registered six points (one goal, five assists) and a +5 rating in six games vs. Calgary in 2020.

Three's Company

• Pavelski led Dallas during the regular season with a career-high 81 points (27 goals, 54 assists) in 82 games, the most points by a Stars player since Jamie Benn logged 89 points in 2015-16.
• Pavelski became the 16th player in NHL history over the age of the 37 to eclipse the 80-point mark, while it was the most points by a player 37-years-or-older since Joe Sakic logged 100 points in 2006-07.
• He's the oldest U.S.-born player in league history to hit the 80+ point benchmark and just the 12th player in NHL history to record 80+ points in a season at age 37 or older and first since Teemu Selanne had 80 with the Anaheim Ducks in 2010-11.
Jason Robertson led the Stars and ranked tied for 13th in the NHL with 41 goals during the 2021-22 campaign.
• He's also the only 40-goal scorer under the age of 23 in the NHL in 2021-22. Among active NHLers, he's one of just nine players to reach the 40-goal mark before their 23rd birthday, most recently done by Auston Matthews (47) in 2019-20.
• Robertson's the fourth player in Dallas Stars history (1993-present) to record a 40-goal season and the first since Tyler Seguin in 2017-18. At 22 years, 278 days, Robertson became the youngest player in Stars history to reach the mark.
• Robertson finished the season tied for first in the NHL with 11 game-winning goals in 2021-22. He matched the franchise record for most game-winning goals in a season, joining Joe Nieuwendyk (1997-98) and Brett Hull (1998-99). He's one of only nine players in NHL history to score at least 11 game-winning goals before their 23rd birthday, while he's the first to do so since the 2017-18 season when Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon (22 years old) and Tampa Bay's Brayden Point (21 years old) each netted 12 game winners.
Roope Hintz finished the 2021-22 season ranked second on the Stars with 37 goals and third with 72 points, both new career highs. Hintz also established a new career high and ranked fourth on the club with 35 assists.
• The native of Tampere, Finland ranked tied for seventh in the NHL with a team-leading three shorthanded goals, while he ranked second on Dallas with seven game winners and third with nine power-play tallies, also posting new career highs in each category.
• Hintz wrapped up the campaign by registering 14 goals and 23 points over his final 22 games of the regular season dating to March 20. His 14 goals over that span were tied for third in the NHL, just one back of Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos and Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov, who each netted 15 goals.

Net presence

Jake Oettinger finished the 2021-22 season with a 30-15-1 record, 2.53 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.
• He ranked 12th in the NHL in wins and 10th in GAA despite starting the season with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.
• At 23 years, 132 days old, he also became the youngest goaltender in franchise history to reach the 30-win mark on April 29 vs. Anaheim, surpassing the previous mark of 27 years, 121 days held by Kari Lehtonen in 2010-11.
• During the 2021-22 campaign, the native of Lakeville, Minn., set numerous Stars goaltending records during his second NHL campaign.
• He won his 25th game of the 2021-22 campaign on April 5 in just his 40th appearance to establish a new franchise record for the fewest games required to reach 25 victories, passing the previous mark set by Ed Belfour in both the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons of 25 wins in 41 games.
• On Feb. 15, Oettinger turned aside 46 of 47 shots in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche, setting new career highs in saves and shots faced. The contest marked the 50th of his NHL career, while the win marked the 25th of his career. His 25 wins through his first 50 appearances were the third-most in franchise history over that span, trailing only Marty Turco and Roman Turek, who both earned 26 wins through their first 50 NHL games. Oettinger would go on to be named the NHL's Third Star of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 21.
