ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The normally sunny skies of Southern California were blanketed by a dark shade of grey and the temperature was uncharacteristically cool for this time of year, but that didn't bother Arcadia native Jason Robertson.

The 22-year-old took advantage of a rare early arrival into town Sunday night and made the 45-minute commute north to his family home in Sierra Madre. There, he got to catch up with his parents, older brother Michael and his two beloved dogs.
It's not often during a hectic 82-game season that the schedule works out this way, but Robertson is making the most of his time home.
"Having two games in a row is pretty cool," said Robertson, of the Stars' contests against the Ducks on Tuesday and Thursday at Honda Center. "It was nice to go home [on Sunday]. It was cool. It's kind of weird though because you're in hockey mode. But just being able to go home and hang out with my family was nice. My older brother Michael's home, so I got to see him. He just got back from Spain. I got to see our dogs, too."
A few weeks ago he played against his younger brother Nick in Toronto with their parents in attendance. Nick got the last laugh in that game, a 4-0 victory for the Maple Leafs. Regardless of the outcome, it was an unforgettable moment for both as it marked the first time they played against each other at the NHL level.

Robertson was most recently in town for Christmas break, spending a few days with friends and family before going back to Dallas. Prior to that was a brief 12-hour trip to LA for a game at Staples Center on the second half of back-to-backs. The Stars were forced to fly into LA the day of the game because of a security issue the night before at the airport in Las Vegas, so the trip went by in a blur.
