Ben Bishop 'fine' after exiting loss to Vegas with injury

The Stars goaltender departed early in the third period Friday after taking a shot off his mask

Stars goaltender Ben Bishop is "fine" after taking a shot to the mask and leaving Friday's game against Vegas at American Airlines Center.

Bishop was injured four minutes into the third period when a shot from Vegas forward Reilly Smith hit him in the mask. Bishop, who was cut by the shot, left the game and entered the NHL's concussion protocol.

"He's fine," Stars coach Ken Hitchcock after the game. "And we were directed to keep him out. He'll be fine (Saturday)."

Kari Lehtonen played the final 16 minutes of the game, which Vegas won 2-1.
