Bob Boughner will get his shot as an NHL head coach after being hired by the Florida Panthers on Monday. Boughner spent the past two seasons as a Sharks assistant coach on Peter DeBoer's staff.
Linking the two franchises even further, Boughner takes on a role that his former boss held from 2008-2011 when it was DeBoer's first ever head coach gig at the NHL level.
DeBoer and Sharks general manager Doug Wilson each shared the following statements in response to Boughner being named head coach of the Panthers.
