The Senators fell to Colorado 7-4 tonight splitting the first two games of this homestand so far. 

The home team found a way to take a 4-3 lead into the third period but the surging Avalance were too much with four straight goals from four different players.

COL@OTT: Batherson scores goal against Justus Annunen

Goal: Rantanen responds quick to tie things up 1-1 with 9:53 to go in the first.

Penalty: Kiviranta gets 2 minutes for interference while Joseph also heads to the box for embellishment at the 6:35 mark of the second. Four on four for the next two.

Goal: Ridly Greig knocks it in while it's sitting on the goal line, Sens take the lead 2-1 with 18:39 to go in the second.

Goal: The Avalanche answer fast again to tie the game up 2-2 at the 17:33 mark of the second.

Penalty: Giroux goes to the box for slashing Cale Makar, Colorado get their first power play of the game with 16:17 to go in the second.

Senators kill off the penalty to keep the game 2-2

Goal: Greig gets his second of the game and second goal this period to take the lead with 12:39 left of the second

Penalty: Ridly Greig gets called for cross-checking, Sens go back to the penalty kill at the 2:45 mark.
