Former Penguins Colby Armstrong and Mike Rupp will join the ROOT SPORTS broadcast team as postgame analysts. Either Armstrong or Rupp will work alongside host Rob King and Jay Caufield throughout the season.

Armstrong, the Penguins 2001 first round pick who made his NHL debut with the Penguins in the 2005-2006 season and had a superb rookie year tallying 40 points and a +15 plus-minus rating. He played in 476 NHL games over eight seasons with the Penguins, Atlanta, Toronto and Montreal and returned to make his home in Pittsburgh last year after retiring from the NHL.

Rupp, a former first round pick of the New York Rangers and 2003 Stanley Cup winner, who scored the game clinching goal for the New Jersey Devils, played for the Penguins for two seasons from 2009-2011. Rupp played 610 NHL games in 11 seasons with the Penguins, New Jersey, Phoenix, Columbus, the New York Rangers and Minnesota. He makes his home north of Pittsburgh.

Both Armstrong and Rupp also have national broadcast responsibilities during the season - Armstrong with Rogers Sportsnet in Canada and Rupp with the NHL Network.

They will be part of an expanded ROOT SPORTS broadcast team led by play-by-play announcer Paul Steigerwald, color commentator Bob Errey and sideline reporter Dan Potash. In addition to Rob King and Jay Caulfield, Stan Savran and Robby Incmikoski will provide game analysis and insight during ROOT SPORTS' Penguins Pregame Presented by Levin Furniture and Mattress, game intermissions and Penguins Postgame presented by Allegheny Health Network.
