The Maple Leafs are playing the second of back-to-back games after winning 5-4 at the New York Islanders on Friday. Toronto trails the Boston Bruins by eight points for second in the Atlantic Division and has played one more game.
It's the fourth time the first two players selected in the 2016 NHL Draft will face each other. Toronto's Auston Matthews, taken No. 1, has seven points (one goal, six assists) in three games, including a goal and two assists in Toronto's 7-2 win at Winnipeg on Oct. 4. Patrik Laine of the Jets, the No. 2 choice, has six points (five goals, one assist) in three games.
Defenseman Jacob Trouba will return for the Jets, who have won six of their past seven games and trail the Nashville Predators by seven points for first in the Central Division. Trouba has missed the past five games with a concussion.

Players to watch

Jets forward Blake Wheeler had a seven-game point streak end Thursday in a 6-2 loss at the Chicago Blackhawks. He has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in his past eight games.
Maple Leafs forward Mitchell Marner has five goals and 11 assists during an 11-game point streak.
