Kings unveil 60th anniversary logo in new video

The Los Angeles Kings are celebrating their diamond jubilee with a fresh look.

On Tuesday, the team unveiled their 60^th anniversary logo in a special hype video posted to the Kings’ social media accounts.

The logo features the number “60” in black on the crest with their original crown logo in silver placed on the bottom of the numbers.

“Our crown has evolved through the decades and remains at the center of who we are,” the Kings wrote on the social media post.

“Los Angeles” is written above the crest and “Est. 1967” is written on the bottom.

The Kings joined the NHL as one of six expansion teams that saw the League go from six to 12 teams in 1967. Their first game was on Oct. 14, 1967, against the Philadelphia Flyers.

They are the only franchise founded in Los Angeles that did not leave the city.

Celebrations of the Kings’ 60^th season will begin on Oct. 6 when the team faces off against the Florida Panthers in their first home game of the season at Crypto.com Arena.
