Wayne Gretzky headlines Oilers-Jets alumni game

Rosters released for event on Oct. 22 prior to Tim Hortons Heritage Classic @NHLdotcom

Hockey Hall of Famers Wayne Gretzky, Glenn Anderson and Dale Hawerchuk are among the players who will participate in the Tim Hortons Heritage Classic Alumni Game between the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets at Investors Group Field on Oct. 22.

The Oilers and Jets will play in the Heritage Classic on Oct. 23. 

Gretzky will captain the Oilers, also represented by Hockey Hall of Fame members Paul Coffey, Grant Fuhr, Jari Kurri, Mark Messier and Glen Sather, who joins Ron Low and John Muckler as coaches. Curtis Joseph, Craig Muni, Steve Smith and Steve Staois round out Edmonton's roster.

Hawerchuk will captain the Jets alumni, who will be represented by players including Teemu Selanne, Thomas Steen, Teppo Numminen, Daniel Berthiaume and Eddie Olczyk. Dan Maloney was added as a coach with Tom McVie and Serge Savard.

Tickets for the Tim Hortons Heritage Classic are on sale at Additional details regarding the 2016 NHL Heritage Classic Spectator Plaza, a two-day fan festival, will be released at a later date.
