Korpisalo leads Kings to shutout win against Canucks

LOS ANGELES -- Joonas Korpisalo made 20 saves, and the Los Angeles Kings kept pace in the Pacific Division with a 3-0 win against the Vancouver Canucks at Crypto.com Arena on Monday.

Los Angeles remained two points ahead of the Seattle Kraken for third in the Pacific. Seattle, which won 4-1 at the Arizona Coyotes on Monday, has a game in hand.
It was Korpisalo's first shutout of the season and fourth in the NHL.
"I felt pretty good, and the guys let me see the puck, and my job is to take care of the rest," said Korpisalo, who is 6-3-1 in 10 games with the Kings after being acquired along with Vladislav Gavrikov in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 1 for Jonathan Quick and two NHL Draft picks.
Gavrikov, Arthur Kaliyev and Drew Doughty scored for the Kings (46-25-10), who had lost three straight and five of seven (2-5-0).
"We were tight defensively," said Los Angeles forward Phillip Danault, who had an assist. "It's the right time of the year, that's for sure. We want to keep building, obviously."

Collin Delia allowed two goals on 27 shots for the Canucks (36-37-7).
"Just the goals didn't come tonight," Vancouver forward Sheldon Dries said. "Give their goalie credit, he played well...There's energy to go around. We just got to find a way to capitalize."
Kaliyev gave the Kings a 1-0 lead at 15:13 of the second period when he followed up his own shot to score five-hole.
Gavrikov made it 2-0 at 4:03 of the third period. Trevor Moore forced a turnover in the offensive zone before finding Gavrikov in the slot for a wrist shot. It was his third goal in 19 games with Los Angeles.
"I think he's still discovering himself as a [defenseman]," Danault said of Gavrikov. "He knows he can bring more, like he's doing right now, which is awesome. Defensively, his stick is just amazing. … Joining the attack like that and scoring goals is big for us."
