Ovechkin with LeBron

What happens when the all-time points leader in the NBA meets the all-time goals leader in the NHL?

They swap jerseys, of course.

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin met up with Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James after the Lakers’ game against the Washington Wizards on Friday at Capital One Arena.

The two shook hands after the game and traded signed jerseys, then posed for a photo.

Ovechkin sat courtside for the game, with his sons Sergei and Ilya, and was introduced on the jumbotron during the third quarter.

Wizards point guard Trae Young showed his respect to the "Great 8," rocking his Ovechkin jersey on the bench during the game. Young is currently injured and didn’t play on Friday.

Friday marked what could be James’s final game in DC, as the 41-year-old NBA legend has yet to decide if he’s going to return for another season after this one.

James – along with teammate Luka Doncic – pushed the Lakers to a dominant 142-111 win over the Wizards.
