Celebs NHL Draft 2026

Justin Bieber wasn't the only famous fan making picks at the 2026 Upper Deck NHL Draft on Friday.

While the pop superstar/Toronto Maple Leafs superfan kicked off the event announcing the selection of Gavin McKenna, plenty of other teams trotted out their famous fans to help out on the big night.

For the second pick, the San Jose Sharks tabbed PWHL San Jose star and Olympic gold medalist Laila Edwards to announce forward Ivar Stenberg.

Actress Cobie Smulders of "Avengers" and "How I Met Your Mother" fame, a Vancouver native, made the Vancouver Canucks pick, the third overall selection of Caleb Malhotra.

For the fourth pick, a pair of Buffalo's current stars Bills tackle Dion Dawkins and Sabres forward Josh Doan came out on stage, but that was a decoy to introduce Bills legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas, who announced defenseman Daxon Rudolph as the Sabres pick.

Hockey Hall of Fame forward and Stanley Cup champion Lanny McDonald did the honors for the Calgary Flames taking Carson Carels at number six.

In the No. 10 slot, country music star Luke Bryan hit the stage to select forward Wyatt Cullen for the Nashville Predators.

It was very clearly a night full of stars -- and not just future NHL stars.
