Three Bruins Prospects Advance to Frozen Four

BostonBruins.com - The NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Tournament kicked off over the weekend with 16 teams. And after two rounds of play, just four remain.
Three Bruins prospects will be skating in the Frozen Four in Chicago next week in hopes of adding a national championship to their resumes.

Anders Bjork, a Bruins fifth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, was a key contributor in Notre Dame's back-to-back victories on Saturday and Sunday in Manchester, N.H.
The Hobey Baker Award finalist potted two goals, including the tying and winning tallies, in a win over the University of Minnesota on Saturday. He launched a game-high nine shots on net.
On Sunday, Bjork had a hand in all three Notre Dame goals, registering a three-assist night in a 3-2 overtime victory against UMass-Lowell. Bjork finished the game with a plus-3 rating.
Bjork and Notre Dame will face off against the tournament's No. 1 seed, the University of Denver, on April 6 (9:30 p.m., ESPN2).
Two more Bruins prospects will be making the trip to Chicago with Harvard. Ryan Donato and Wiley Sherman helped propel the Crimson to victories over Providence and Air Force over the weekend.
Donato, a 2014 second-round pick of the Bruins, had a goal and an assist over the two games. He finished with a plus-4 rating and fired 11 shots on net.
Sherman, a fifth-round pick of the Bruins in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, registered an assist and a plus-1 rating in the two games, providing Harvard with steady play on the blueline.

Harvard will take on the tournament's No. 2 overall seed, Minnesota-Duluth, on April 6 (6 p.m., ESPN 2).
Bruins prospects Charlie McAvoy and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson had their seasons come to an end when Boston University fell to Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday in the West Regional Final.
In the Terriers' thrilling, 4-3 double-overtime victory over North Dakota in the opening game on Friday, McAvoy notched the winner when he charged the net and buried one backdoor. The 2016 first-round pick also assisted on BU's first goal. McAvoy finished the season with five goals and 21 assists in 38 games.
Forsbacka Karlsson added a goal to put BU up, 3-1, early in the third period. The 2015 second-round pick notched 14 goals and 19 assists in 39 games this season.

CHL Playoffs Ramping Up

Zach Senyshyn (Soo Greyhounds, OHL): The 15th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft had a goal on Saturday in the Greyhounds' 6-4 loss to the Flint Firebirds. The best-of-seven series is knotted, 1-1, and continues Monday night. Senyshyn notched 42 goals and 23 assists in 59 games during the regular season.
Jeremy Lauzon (Rouyn Noranda, QMJHL): The blueliner had a goal in a 5-4 loss Friday and followed up with a goal and an assist in the Huskies' 3-2 win over Halifax on Saturday. The series is tied, 1-1. Lauzon had five goals and 23 assists in 39 games during the regular season.
Jesse Gabrielle (Prince George, WHL): Gabrielle registered an assist in the Cougars' 5-1 win over Portland Sunday. The best-of-seven series is tied, 1-1. Gabrielle, who signed an entry-level contract with Boston in December, had 35 goals and 29 assists in 61 regular-season games.

Becker Rides Hot Streak

Jack Becker (2015 seventh-round pick) has been riding high of late, tallying goals in five straight games for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL. The Michigan Tech commit had two goals and an assist in two goals over the weekend and now has five goals and three assists over his last five games.
The 19-year-old has 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 games this season.
