Boucher-Lightning-Sens 10-22

LIGHTNING (3-1-0) at SENATORS (3-1-0)
7 p.m. ET; SN360, Sportsnet, SUN, NHL.TV

Lightning team scope

Andrei Vasilevskiy was the first goalie off the ice at the morning start and is expected to make his second start of the season for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ben Bishop played the other three games, including a 4-0 home loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. The Lightning are one of two NHL teams (the other is the Vancouver Canucks) that have not scored a first-period goal this season. Tampa Bay has given up the first goal in each of its four games. All four were played at home; Tampa Bay is playing the first of a six-game road trip and has 12 of its next 16 games away from Amalie Arena. "It's just one of those things that we have to bear down a little more in our starts and get really after it," forward Tyler Johnson said. "We definitely need to be better. It's hard battling back, but we have the character on this team to be able to do it. We just keep playing our game, but at the same time you can't make a habit of that. You want to try and get out of it as quick as possible."

Senators team scope

It's the first game for Ottawa Senators coach Guy Boucher against the team that fired him on March 24, 2013, but he says there's no revenge factor involved in facing his former team for the first time. The animosity I guess people would be looking for, there's none of it," he said Friday. Only two players, Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman, remain from that team. Craig Anderson will try for his fourth win in as many appearances; he's 3-0-0 despite allowing 11 goals in the three games. captain Erik Karlsson has two goals and five assists in four games this season, including a goal and an assist as the Senators bounced back from a 5-1 loss at the Detroit Red Wings on Monday with a 7-4 win at home against the Arizona Coyotes the next night. One thing the Senators are conscious of is trying to keep Lightning defensemen like Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman from jumping into the attack. "When Hedman and Stralman get up the ice, they create chances. That's something we talked about this morning," forward Derick Brassard said. The Senators are 1-for-11 on the power play and ranked 25th in the League. They scored their first power play goal of the season against Arizona.
