ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Mikael Granlund scored at 3:43 of overtime to give the Minnesota Wild a 5-4 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Xcel Energy Center on Saturday.

Granlund took a drop pass from Charlie Coyle and beat Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy five-hole from the top of the right circle.
Yanni Gourde, J.T. Miller and Anton Stralman each had a goal and an assist, and Vasilevskiy made 29 saves for Tampa Bay (4-1-1), which had won three straight.

"This one stings," Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh said. "For us, we've got to learn here not to take a period off so to speak. We had it going on all cylinders there in the first period and felt good about ourselves. We can't let our foot off the gas pedal there against any team in this League, especially on the road. So lesson learned. We get a quick turnaround here (at Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday) to try and change the outcome."

Coyle had a goal and an assist, Zach Parise scored and Alex Stalock made 27 saves for Minnesota (4-2-2), which was playing the second game of a back-to-back (defeated Dallas Stars 3-1 on Friday).
Stralman tied it 4-4 at 15:02 of the third period, deking Stalock from in front before scoring into an open net.
Ryan Callahan scored his first goal of the season after a point shot from Stralman deflected off his leg in the slot to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead at 2:23 of the first period. Gourde made it 2-0 at 10:50 on a rebound in front.
Coyle cut it to 2-1 at 13:23 after Nino Niederreiter forced a turnover by Vasilevskiy behind the crease. Miller scored on the power play to make it 3-1 at 15:15, redirecting a pass from Victor Hedman in the slot.
Marcus Foligno cut it 3-2 at 3:49 of the second period on a backhand before Parise tied it 3-3 at 10:45 of the third period on a rebound in the crease as a power play ended. Parise has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in his past six games.
"It was really nice to see a goal come from the other lines," Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said. "That's paramount in my book because if you don't have four lines that are participating in the scoring over the course of the year, then it's really difficult to succeed."
Jason Zucker gave the Wild a 4-3 lead at 13:13, beating Vasilevskiy under his arm off a rebound from Matt Dumba's initial shot.
"We knew that we had to come from behind both nights (Friday and Saturday) and get these wins," Zucker said. "We knew it was going to be a battle against two really good teams that have a lot of firepower and can score goals. We shut [Tampa Bay] down in the third and played well."

They said it

"You're playing well, you're feeling good, we were pressing, pressing, pressing. We scored and then we probably got a little bit comfortable. It's funny, when we went behind, the desperation kicked in and showed a lot about our resiliency just to get a point out of the game. A lot of good things came from it, but it definitely wasn't our most complete game." -- Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper
"It's fun to get behind. No. It's not. I'm being facetious. I'd much prefer to start out 2-0 and then increase it, but it's also a really good thing when a team starts to believe it can come back. I've been fortunate enough to be with some teams that in the third period when they were down they said, 'OK, we know we can score goals.' And they do. It's not what you want to have to rely on all the time, but it's nice to know that you never give up and you never think you're out of it."-- Wild coach Bruce Boudreau
