Welcome to the Stanley Cup Playoffs Buzz, a daily look at the races for the 2022 NHL postseason. There are 21 days left in the regular season and the races in each of the four divisions are tight. The top three teams in each of the four divisions and the next two highest-place finishers in each conference reach the playoffs.

Here are the Stanley Cup Playoffs clinching scenarios for March 25:

EASTERN CONFERENCE
The Boston Bruins will clinch the Atlantic Division title:
-- If they defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning in any fashion (1 p.m. ET; NHLN, SN, NESN, BSSUN, SN NOW)
OR
-- If they get one point against the Lightning AND the Toronto Maple Leafs lose to the Carolina Hurricanes in any fashion (7 p.m. ET; CBC, SNO, SNW, BSSO, ESPN+, SN NOW)
OR
-- If the Maple Leafs lose to the Hurricanes in regulation.
The New Jersey Devils will clinch a playoff berth:
-- If they defeat the Ottawa Senators in any fashion (7 p.m. ET; SN 1, MSGSN, ESPN+, SN NOW)
OR
-- If they get one point against the Senators AND either of the following occurs:
-- the Pittsburgh Penguins lose to the Washington Capitals in regulation (8 p.m. ET; ESPN+, ABC, SN NOW)
-- the Florida Panthers lose to the New York Rangers in any fashion (5 p.m. ET; BSFL, MSG, ESPN+, SN NOW)
OR
-- If the Panthers lose to the Rangers in regulation

There are 15 games on the NHL schedule Saturday, 13 with playoff implications.
Detroit Red Wings at Philadelphia Flyers (1 p.m. ET; NBCSP, BSDET, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Red Wings (31-31-9) have lost four of their past five games and are nine points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. The Flyers (27-32-12) are 3-0-1 in their past four games.
Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins (1 p.m. ET; NHLN, SN, NESN, BSSUN)
The Lightning (42-25-6) will look to end a three-game losing streak and gain on the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are five points ahead of them for second in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins (55-11-5) were the first team in the NHL this season to clinch a playoff berth and can clinch first place in the Atlantic if they win in any fashion or if they get one point against the Lightning and the Maple Leafs lose to the Carolina Hurricanes in any fashion or if the Maple Leafs lose in regulation.
Seattle Kraken at Nashville Predators (2 p.m. ET; BSSO, ROOT-NW, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Kraken (39-24-8), who lost 2-1 in a shootout to the Predators on Thursday, will try to hold off the Winnipeg Jets for the first wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference. Winnipeg, which holds the second wild card, trails Seattle by one point. Nashville (36-28-8), 5-2-1 in its past eight games, is five points behind the Jets for the second wild card.
Winnipeg Jets at Los Angeles Kings (4 p.m. ET; BSW, TSN3, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Jets (41-29-3) have won two in a row and could jump into the first wild card with a win and a loss in regulation for the Kraken. Winnipeg is five points behind the Colorado Avalanche for third in the Central Division. The Kings (41-20-10), who haven't played since Monday, could get within two points of the Vegas Golden Knights for first in the Pacific.
San Jose Sharks at Calgary Flames (4 p.m. ET; SN, NBCSCA, ESPN+)
The Flames (32-26-15), who have lost three of four, will try to get within four points of the Jets for the second wild card. The Sharks (19-38-15) were eliminated from playoff contention March 15.
Chicago Blackhawks at Minnesota Wild (5 p.m. ET; BSN, BSWI, NBCSCH, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Wild (41-22-9) could jump back into first in the Central with a win and a regulation loss for the Dallas Stars, who play the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The Blackhawks (24-41-6) were eliminated from playoff contention March 18.
New York Rangers at Florida Panthers (5 p.m. ET; BSFL, MSG, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Rangers (42-20-10), 7-2-1 in their past 10 games, can move within two points of the New Jersey Devils for second in the Metropolitan Division. The Panthers (36-29-7) are one point behind the Penguins for the second wild card in the East.
Buffalo Sabres at New York Islanders (5 p.m. ET; ESPN+, HULU, SN NOW)
The Islanders (37-27-8), who hold the first wild card from the East, can take a five-point lead over the Penguins. The Sabres (34-31-6) ended a four-game skid (0-3-1) Friday with a 5-4 win against the Devils and are six points behind Pittsburgh.
Vancouver Canucks at Dallas Stars (7 p.m. ET; CITY, SNP, BSSW, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Stars (39-19-14), who are 2-0-1 in their past three and first in the Central, can take a three-point lead over the second-place Wild. This is the first of a three-game road trip for the Canucks (32-34-5), who have won eight of their past 10 games.
Ottawa Senators at New Jersey Devils (7 p.m. ET; SN1, MSGSN, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Devils (45-19-8) can clinch their first playoff berth in five seasons if they win in any fashion or through one of several scenarios involving other teams. New Jersey still trails Carolina by two points for first in the Metropolitan after losing to Buffalo on Friday. The Senators (35-32-5) can move within three points of the Penguins for the second wild card in the East.
Toronto Maple Leafs at Carolina Hurricanes (7 p.m. ET; CBC, SNO, SNW, BSSO, ESPN+, SN NOW)
The Hurricanes (46-16-8), who clinched a playoff berth when the Maple Leafs defeated the Panthers 6-2 on Thursday, will try to hold onto sole possession of first place in the Metropolitan. The Maple Leafs (43-19-9), second in the Atlantic, can gain a seven-point lead on the third-place Lightning.
Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins (8 p.m. ET; ESPN+, ABC, SN NOW)
This is a big one for both. The Penguins (35-27-10), who have lost five of six, hold the second wild card in the East. The Capitals (34-31-8), who ended a three-game losing streak (0-2-1) with a 6-1 win against the Blackhawks on Thursday, can pull within two points of Pittsburgh.
Vegas Golden Knights at Edmonton Oilers (10 p.m. ET; CBC, SN, TVAS2, ATTSN-RM, ESPN+)
The Golden Knights (45-21-6), first in the Pacific, have won three in a row and can potentially take a six-point lead over the second-place Kings. The Oilers (41-23-8), who have won five straight, could tie Los Angeles for second.

About last night

There were three games Friday, each with playoff implications:
Columbus Blue Jackets 5, New York Islanders 4 (OT): The Islanders (37-27-9) earned a point and increased their lead in the Eastern Conference wild card race when they forced overtime against the Blue Jackets. The Islanders hold the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the East and are three points ahead of the Penguins, who hold the second wild card. The Blue Jackets (23-41-7) were eliminated from playoff contention March 17.
Buffalo Sabres 5, New Jersey Devils 4: The Sabres (34-31-6) ended a four-game losing streak (0-3-1) to move to within six points of the Penguins for the second wild card from the East. The Devils (45-19-8), who have lost five of their past six (1-3-2), failed to clinch a playoff spot and remain two points behind the Hurricanes for first and four points ahead of the third-place Rangers in the Metropolitan Division.
Colorado Avalanche 3, Arizona Coyotes 1: The Avalanche (42-23-6) won for the seventh time in the past eight games to move to within one point of the Wild for second place in the Central Division. They trail the first-place Stars by two points. The Coyotes (27-34-12) were eliminated from playoff contention with the loss.
