The forward, acquired in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for forwards Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini on Sunday, had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. The Coyotes are 2-0 since trading for Schmaltz, the younger brother of Blues defenseman Jordan Schmaltz.
The Blues will play the second half of a back to back after a 3-2 overtime win against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday. It was the Blues' first victory in a one-goal game this season. Blues forward Alexander Steen (head) and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (hand) left the game with injuries.
Adin Hill will make his second consecutive start in goal for the Coyotes. He made 29 saves against Nashville for his first NHL shutout, and in his first start of the season for Arizona.

Players to watch

Blues forward Ryan O'Reilly has four points (two goals, two assists) in his past four games. He has 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 25 games against the Coyotes.
Coyotes forward Clayton Keller has two goals in three games after going 11 games without a goal. Keller, a St. Louis native, has four assists in five games against the Blues.
