Girard fined for actions in Avalanche game against Blackhawks

NEW YORK - Colorado Avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard has been fined $1,957.89, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Chicago Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat during NHL Game No. 536 in Chicago on Wednesday, Dec. 18, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 13:47 of the third period. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
