Dahlin

Rasmus Dahlin was added Thursday to the Atlantic Division roster for the 2023 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend.

The Buffalo Sabres defenseman will replace teammate Tage Thompson, who is unable to participate because of an upper-body injury.
Thompson did not play in the third period of a 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at KeyBank Center on Wednesday. He leads Buffalo with 68 points (34 goals, 34 assists) in 50 games.
Dahlin represented the Sabres at the 2022 All-Star Game. He's second among NHL defensemen with NHL career-highs in goals (14) and points (55), third with an NHL-best 41 assists, leads the position with 24 power-play points and ranks third overall in average ice time (26:07). The 22-year-old had five points (two goals, three assists) in a 6-5 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 7, tying a Sabres single-game record shared by Phil Housley (Dec. 23, 1989), John Van Boxmeer (Nov. 7, 1981), Richie Dunn (Jan. 27, 1980) and Jerry Korab (Feb. 25, 1978). He's on pace for 91 points to break Housley's team record by a defenseman (81 points; 21 goals, 60 assists) set in 1989-90.
