NEW YORK --Chris Kreider will replace Artemi Panarin as the New York Rangers representative at 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend at Enterprise Center in St. Louis this week.

Panarin, a forward, has an upper-body injury that caused him to miss a game for the first time this season Tuesday, a 4-2 loss against the New York Islanders at Madison Square Garden. Rangers coach David Quinn said the injury has lingered for five days and hasn't improved.
Panarin leads the Rangers and is fifth in the NHL with 68 points (26 goals, 42 assists). It would have been Panarin's first appearance in an NHL All-Star Game.
"He's had an issue before with this and it re-occurred," Quinn said of Panarin's injury. "It just didn't get a lot better."
