Rangers celebrate frontline, essential workers before game against Devils

Team donned, auctioned special warmup jerseys, recorded messages of support for healthcare employees

The New York Rangers are idolized by many, but they honored the real heroes Tuesday.

The Rangers donned special warmup jerseys to honor frontline and essential workers before their game against the New Jersey Devils.

New York referred to it as Essential Workers Night at Madison Square Garden, where they celebrated first responders, healthcare workers, nursing-home attendants, MTA workers, sanitation workers and others who have fought the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many Rangers players also recorded messages to acknowledge and thank those people.

Thank you for always being there for us.

The Rangers
auctioned off
each player's warmup jersey, and commemorative patches, with proceeds benefitting the New York-based Northwell Health Foundation.
