Subban, who is in Los Angeles while appearing at the ESPYs and the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, actually had already met Buss.
In an Instagram post from March 2016, Subban shared a photo of him and Buss holding up one of his No. 76 jerseys at a Lakers game.
