Datsyuk-decision 9-24

TORONTO -- Team Russia is without center Pavel Datsyuk for its World Cup of Hockey 2016 semifinal game against Team Canada at Air Canada Centre on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; ESPN2, CBC, TVA Sports) because of a lower-body injury.
The 38-year-old center did not dress for warmups after participating in the morning skate. Team Russia assistant coach Harijs Vitolinsh said after the morning skate that Datsyuk does feel better.

Datsyuk also sat out Team Russia's 3-0 win against Team Finland in its final preliminary-round game Thursday because of the injury. With Datsyuk remaining out, Evgeny Kuznetsov again took his place at center on the top line between Alex Ovechkin and Vladimir Tarasenko.
Datsyuk hasn't played since a 4-3 win against Team North America on Monday. He assisted on Tarasenko's winning goal and played 18:57, most among Team Russia forwards, in that win. He has two assists in two games at the World Cup.
Team Russia dressed seven defensemen and 11 forwards for warmups with Datsyuk, center Vadim Shipachyov and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy not participating. Defenseman Nikita Nesterov is making his first appearance of the World Cup after being a healthy scratch for the first three games.
If Team Russia is able to win without Datsyuk again, he would have two more days off to recover before the best-of-3 final begins Tuesday. The winner of the semifinal Saturday will advance to face the winner of the other semifinal between Team Sweden and Team Europe on Sunday (1 p.m. ET; ESPN, CBC, TVA Sports).
