Forward sustained lower-body injury Friday; Roberto Luongo likely out Saturday @NHLdotcom

Florida Panthers forward Nick Bjugstad was placed on injured reserve on Saturday after sustaining a lower-body injury on Friday.

Bjugstad left a 2-1 win against the Nashville Predators in the first period and did not return. He has a goal and an assist in 21 games this season.

The Panthers also recalled goalie Sam Brittain from Manchester of the ECHL after Roberto Luongo sustained an upper-body injury during warmups prior to the game Friday. Luongo is day to day.

Brittain, 24, likely will back up James Reimer on Saturday against the Boston Bruins (7 p.m. ET; FS-F, NESN, NHL.TV).

Brittain is 15-5-0 with a 2.62 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 22 games this season.
