See it: Islanders, Ducks go 14 rounds

The New York Islanders needed 14 rounds in a shootout to
defeat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2
at Honda Center on Tuesday.
It was the third-longest shootout in NHL history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The longest was the Florida Panthers' 20-round win against the Washington Capitals (2-1) on Dec. 16, 2014, followed by the 15 rounds the New York Rangers needed to defeat the Capitals 3-2 on Nov. 26, 2005.

Defenseman Nick Leddy's first NHL shootout goal gave the Islanders the victory, their first in six road games this season (1-4-1).
New York kept the game alive by scoring in the fourth (John Tavares), sixth (Ryan Strome), eighth (Nikolay Kulemin) and 12th round (Thomas Hickey) after the Ducks had scored in the top of each. Hickey's goal was upheld after a video review confirmed the on-ice ruling that he did not interfere with Ducks goalie Jonathan Bernier before the puck crossed the goal line.
The Islanders (6-8-4) are tied with the Vancouver Canucks for 28th in the League with 16 points, two ahead of the Arizona Coyotes.
