Kyle Palmieri and Sami Vatanen each had a goal and an assist for the New Jersey Devils in a 5-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place.
Mathieu Perreault gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at 13:11 of the first period. Andy Greene tied it 1-1 at 14:57, and Palmieri gave the Devils a 2-1 lead 50 seconds later. Vatanen made it 3-1 at 1:21 of the second period before Kyle Connor scored to make it 3-2 at 9:10. Travis Zajac scored 17 seconds into the third period to give New Jersey a 4-2 lead. Skyler McKenzie cut it to 4-3 at 3:07, but Damon Severson scored at 10:01 to make it 5-3. Taylor Hall and Marcus Johansson each had two assists, and Keith Kinkaid made 21 saves for the Devils. Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele each had two assists, and Connor Hellebuyck made 22 saves for the Jets.
