NSH@DAL: Jeannot extends lead in 2nd

DALLAS-- Tanner Jeannot had a goal and an assist to help the Nashville Predators defeat the Dallas Stars 4-2 at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday.

Juuse Saros made 25 saves for Nashville (7-5-1), which is 6-1-1 in its past eight games.
"We had a couple of moments where we were sitting back a little bit too much, and Juuse came up with some big saves," Predators forward Ryan Johansen said. "Obviously very timely, huge moments in those games where we needed our goalie to make a save and he did to help us get that win."
Braden Holtby made 18 saves and Roope Hintz and Miro Heiskanen scored for Dallas (4-6-2), which has one win in its past seven games (1-4-2). The Stars don't have a regulation win this season.
"I know exactly what's wrong with this team, and we're going to fix it," Stars coach Rick Bowness said.

NSH@DAL: Johansen flips in opener

Johansen gave the Predators a 1-0 lead with 52 seconds remaining in the first period off a cross-crease pass from Jeannot, backhanding the puck over a diving Holtby.
Jeannot extended the lead to 2-0 at 4:51 of the second period on a wrist shot that beat Holtby high stick side.
"I thought it was awesome playing with those two guys [Johansen and Philip Tomasino]," Jeannot said. "It was really fun and I was looking forward to the experience of playing with them. I just wanted to do the same thing, keep playing my game. I know what I bring to the table, so I wanted to be hard on the forecheck and try to get the puck into their hands. And, fortunately, I got the puck in my hands and I got a couple of bounces tonight, so it was good."

NSH@DAL: Duchene scores off odd-man rush

Matt Duchene made it 3-0 when he snapped the puck past Holtby high glove side at 17:36.
Hintz scored his first of the season for the Stars 15 seconds later to make it 3-1. He collected a loose puck and snapped home a rebound from the top of the crease.
The goal ended a shutout streak of 126:27 by Saros against the Stars.
"I didn't have any pressure about [scoring]," Hintz said. "I had a lot of chances before that. It's just not good that it didn't help with the win."
Heiskanen made the score 3-2 with a power play goal at 10:43 of the third period when Alexander Radulov spotted him driving the net. He wristed the puck past a scrambling Saros, who was squared up to Radulov as the puck carrier on the other side of the net.
Colton Sissons scored an empty net goal at 19:17 for the Predators for the 4-2 final.
NOTES: Predators defenseman Alexandre Carrier took a Tyler Seguin slap shot to the side of the head at 12:55 in the second period and left the game. "He's doing well," Nashville coach John Hynes said. "He's going to travel with us to St. Louis and then we'll evaluate further. But he's up and moving and doing well, so we'll see where he's at tomorrow." … Jeannot has five goals, one behind Lucas Raymond of the Detroit Red Wings and Jonathan Dahlen of the San Jose Sharks among NHL rookies. … Duchene has scored six goals in 13 games. He scored six in 34 games last season.
