SAN JOSE -- Members of legendary heavy metal band Metallica got Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final off to rocking start at SAP Center on Monday.
The band's "Nothing Else Matters" played during the pregame light show. Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo opened the door to the San Jose Sharks locker room for them to take the ice, which they did to the band's "Seek and Destroy." Lead singer James Hetfield and guitarist Kirk Hammett performed "The Star-Spangled-Banner" prior to the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Each of the four was wearing a Sharks jersey with his name on the back.

The guitars used by Hetfield and Hammett during the performance were signed by the members of the band, displayed on the concourse during the game, and will be donated to the Sharks Foundation to be auctioned.
Fans can bid on the guitars until Wednesday, June 15
, with proceeds going to Little Kids Rock and the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, with each receiving 50 percent of the total raised.

The band's members are no strangers to SAP Center. Hetfield was in attendance when the Sharks clinched their first trip to the Cup Final with a 5-2 win against the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final.
Last season, the Sharks held "Metallica Night." The band dropped the ceremonial opening puck, helped with the lineup announcement and were presented with custom Metallica Sharks jerseys.
