BOSTON - With Valentine's Day just around the corner, a couple of Bruins spread some love with a visit to Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday afternoon. Forward Frank Vatrano and defenseman Charlie McAvoy dawned festive heart-shaped accessories as they spent time chatting with young fans, handing out Bruins-themed gifts, signing autographs, taking photos, and even painting at the arts and crafts table.

"It's really nice to kind of be a part of that, to think maybe, for a little, you're making them smile and maybe forget about whatever struggles are going on," said McAvoy. "It's always special when you get to do something like that, and it's a great opportunity. The Bruins do a really good job at getting us out and putting us into some stuff in the community to maybe brighten some days, so it's really nice."
Although both players disagreed who had the more impressive painting abilities, they can agree on the joy that these visits bring to the kids and to themselves.
"It really means a lot seeing their reaction when we see them," said Vatrano. "I love doing these kinds of things; I know Charlie does, too."
