Mitch Marner took the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday and it went a little better than his turn at the plate in April.

Marner was on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before a game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Marner stepped up to the mound after a standout rookie season, teaming up with Auston Matthews and William Nylander to form one of the most formidable young rosters in the NHL.
Marner took batting practice with the Blue Jays some of his teammates earlier this season and he appears to have a better handle on pitching.

And while the crowd cheered, Marner had at least one critic in Brian Boyle, who spent last season with the Maple Leafs.
