Draisaitl

Leon Draisaitl was placed on injured reserve by the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

The 21-year-old forward didn't play in a 6-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday because of an eye injury and concussion-like symptoms sustained during the first period of a 5-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 9.
Draisaitl has three points (one goal, two assists) in three games this season. He was eighth in the NHL with 77 points (29 goals, 48 assists) in 82 games in 2016-17, and signed an eight-year, $68 million contract ($8.5 million average annual value) on Aug. 16.
The Oilers play the Carolina Hurricanes at Rogers Place on Tuesday (9 p.m. ET; SNOL, FS-CR, NHL.TV).
