Jamie Oleksiak to have hearing with Player Safety

Stars defenseman faces discipline from NHL for illegal check to head of Flyers forward Chris VandeVelde

Dallas Stars defenseman Jamie Oleksiak will have a telephone hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for an illegal check to the head of Philadelphia Flyers forward Chris VandeVelde.

The incident occurred at 7:30 of the third period of the game at Wells Fargo Center. Oleksiak was not penalized.
The Flyers defeated the Stars 4-2.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
