Jakob Pelletier
knows the likelihood of making the opening night roster for the Calgary Flames this season is slim, but that isn't going to stop him from trying.

The 18-year-old forward was selected by Calgary in the first round (No. 26) of the 2019 NHL Draft after he had 89 points (39 goals, 50 assists) in 65 games for Moncton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season.
"I think I just want to come here and try to force them to keep me. It's going to be hard to cut me," Pelletier said at Flames development camp in June. "That's what I'm going to do. I want to prepare maybe for next year so that at the camp, they're going to say, 'Yeah, we have to keep him.' Stuff like that.
