Redmond-Podcast

Jackie Redmond will be getting fired up and shooting a few one-timers on Puck Culture, a new podcast produced by NHL Studios that launches Wednesday.

Redmond, the host of "NHL Now" on NHL Network, will host the weekly podcast, which will go beyond the X's and O's. Current and former players will be profiled on and off the ice and celebrity guests will share their connections with the game.
There also will be segments titled Fired Up, Circle of Trust and One Timers.
"This is kind of bridging that gap and bringing people together from different industries or different backgrounds and different areas of media together to talk about one thing, and that's hockey," Redmond said.
The essence of the podcast matches Redmond's outgoing personality. It was created as a complement to the NHL.com red-carpet series "NHL Celebrity Wrap," which traces its roots to a live Facebook show called "Stanley Cup Live" that covered the Stanley Cup Final and featured interviews with celebrity performers, guests and athletes from other sports.
"It's kind of born from that in addition to the Celebrity Wrap on NHL.com, which brings celebrities into the mix as well, so it's very much a celebration of the game with people that you might not be used to hearing talk about it," Redmond said.
Whether it's a country music star, an actor or actress, a model or a fan, Puck Culture will be open to anyone with connections to and an affinity for the game. NHL Network analyst Scott Hartnell, who played 17 seasons in the NHL, joins Redmond on the premiere episode, one where the audience can expect friendly chirping with the colorful retired forward along with details of the unwritten code that goes into a locker room.
"We're going to get Hartnell's take on the background of that and what's OK and what's not OK, and how that impacts a team and motivates a team," Redmond said. "We're going to have a lot of fun too. We're going to talk about Justin Bieber and how crazy of a Toronto Maple Leafs] fan he is. It's going to be a very wide range of topics that we're going to cover."
Puck Culture is the latest show to join the NHL podcast network, joining NHL Draft Class, NHL Executive Suite, NHL @TheRink, NHL Fantasy on Ice and The Great One on 1.
The podcasts are free and listeners can subscribe on all podcast platforms, including Apple, Spotify, Stitcher and Google. It will also be available on
