Hurricanes goalie Eddie Lack put on injured reserve

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Eddie Lack was placed on injured reserve Monday with a concussion.
The Hurricanes recalled goalie Michael Leighton from Charlotte of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis after Lack sustained the concussion at practice Monday.

Lack, 28, is 1-2-1 with a 3.78 goals-against average and .856 save percentage in five games this season, and is 13-16-7 with a 2.92 GAA and .896 save percentage in 39 games with Carolina since being acquired in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks on June 27, 2015.

On Oct. 3, 2015, Lack and the Hurricanes agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $5.5 million (average annual value $2.75 million) that runs through next season.
Leighton, 35, is 35-41-4 with a 2.96 GAA and .901 save percentage in 106 NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers and Hurricanes.
