New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has spent his hockey career making saves. But during his appearance on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" on Tuesday, Lundqvist showed off his skills shooting the puck.

Taking turns with Kelly Ripa, Lundqvist fired shots on goal against co-host Ryan Seacrest.

Lundqvist is back in New York after an offseason that included he and twin brother Joel Lundqvist winning a gold medal for Sweden at the 2017 IIHF World Championship. The Rangers report for training camp on Sept. 14 and begin the 2017-18 season against the Colorado Avalanche at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 5.

Also on the Rangers' schedule is the 2018 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic against the Buffalo Sabres at Citi Field on Jan. 1. Lundqvist and the Rangers are unbeaten in outdoor games since defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in the 2012 Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park. The Rangers also swept two games of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series at Yankee Stadium with victories against the New Jersey Devils (7-3) and New York Islanders (2-1).

"I grew up playing outside," Lundqvist said. "It's kind of going back in time a little bit, except now it's going to be 50,000 watching instead of your mom or your dad.
"The big change, I think, is the lighting. When you play indoors you have the lights coming straight down, so there's no shadows. When you play outside, you get the baseball lights and it's coming more from the sides, so you get more shadows. It's a great experience. A couple of years ago we played at Yankee Stadium. It was awesome."
