Bob Dailey

Former NHL defenseman Bob Dailey died Wednesday. He was 63.
Dailey played for the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks over nine seasons.

"Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Flyers lost another great player today with the passing of former defenseman Bob Dailey after a long battle with cancer," Flyers president Paul Holmgren said in a statement. "Bob was an integral part of the 1979-80 Flyers team that had a 35-game unbeaten streak and played in the Stanley Cup Final that year. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends."
Dailey had 94 goals and 231 assists (325 points) in 561 NHL games, and 12 goals and 34 assists (46 points) in 63 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He played his first three-plus seasons with Vancouver before he was traded to Philadelphia for Larry Goodenough and Jack McIlhargey on Jan. 20, 1977.
He played for Philadelphia until 1982; his 56 goals are fifth in Flyers history among defensemen, and his 194 points are seventh.
Dailey was selected to the NHL All-Star Game in 1978 and 1981.
