CENTERS

Spend up for: Tyler Seguin, DAL ($7,400) -- Seguin and the Dallas Stars open their season at home against the expansion Vegas Golden Knights. Chances are the Golden Knights will struggle to contain the Stars offense, which features a line of Seguin, left wing Jamie Benn ($7,200) and right wing Alexander Radulov ($6,300). Even when Dallas struggled on offense last season, Seguin averaged 4.1 DraftKings points per game.

Value pick: Jared McCann, FLA ($3,200) --McCann is expected to center the Florida Panthers' third line in their opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 21-year-old had a solid preseason, scoring four goals in four games, one on the power play, with nine shots on goal. McCann is an excellent home-run play for large tournaments.

WINGS

Spend up for: Nikita Kucherov, TBL ($7,200) --The right wing will welcome the return of center Steven Stamkos, who missed the majority of last season because of a knee injury. Kucherov tied for fifth in the League in scoring (85 points) and was second in goals (40) last season, and averaged 3.3 SOG per game. He also had 49 points (22 goals, 27 assists) in 38 home games.

Value pick: Jonathan Marchessault, VGK ($4,600) --Working in some players from the Golden Knights isn't a bad strategy in GPP formats. Somebody is going to have to provide offense for Vegas and Marchessault has a good shot having scored 30 goals in 75 games for the Panthers last season. He'll play on the top line and get prominent power-play time, plus the Stars allowed the second-most goals (260) last season.

DEFENSEMEN

Spend up for: Zach Werenski, CBJ ($5,400) --Since there aren't many elite options at defenseman for the three-game slate, Werenski is a safe bet for the Columbus Blue Jackets against the New York Islanders. The 20-year-old led all rookie defensemen in scoring last season with 47 points (11 goals, 36 assists) in 78 games. Werenski will also be running the first power-play unit, which becomes more potent with left wing Artemi Panarin ($6,600).

Value pick: Jason Garrison, VGK ($3,100) --The veteran on the Golden Knights' defense, Garrison should play big minutes and help kill plenty of penalties. This likely will lead to a high volume of blocked shots. Again, plenty of Vegas players will have low ownership, so targeting any of its defensemen could pay dividends.

GOALTENDER

Top pick: Ben Bishop, DAL ($8,400) -- In a short slate, you're going to want to go choose a goalie who can win his game. The Stars have the best odds of getting a victory at home against the Golden Knights, which would give Bishop automatic points. He's going to be making his Dallas debut, so there's added incentive to perform well. When fully healthy, Bishop is among the best goaltenders in the League, a Vezina Trophy finalist in 2014 and 2016 with Tampa Bay.
