Facts and figures Pastrnak 3.1

David Pastrnak scored his NHL-leading 47th goal for the Boston Bruins in a 4-0 win against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday. The forward has nine points (five goals, four assists) in his past six games and has opened the scoring in a game 15 times this season. Brett Hull is the only player in NHL history to score more game-opening goals in one season (19 in 1990-91 and 16 in 1991-92).

The Bruins (41-13-12) lead the Atlantic Division by seven points over the Tampa Bay Lightning (41-19-5) heading into their game at Amalie Arena on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SNE, SNO, SNP, TVAS, NHL.TV).
Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov had two assists in a 4-3 win against the Calgary Flames in Tampa Bay
to finish February
with 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 13 games and reach 80 points (31 goals, 49 assists) for the fourth consecutive season. He also has 101 points (49 goals, 52 assists) in 112 regular-season games without Steven Stamkos in the lineup. The center
will be out 6-8 weeks
because of a core muscle injury and the recovery time would cause him to miss the rest of the regular season and likely the Eastern Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Matthews keeps pace with Pastrnak, sparks Maple Leafs

Auston Matthews scored his 45th goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 4-2 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at Scotiabank Arena. The Maple Leafs (35-23-8) have won three in a row since losing 6-3 to emergency backup goalie David Ayres and the Carolina Hurricanes on Feb. 22. They lead the Florida Panthers (33-25-7) by five points for third place in the Atlantic.

Draisaitl first to 100 points in Oilers win

Leon Draisaitl had three points (two goals, one assist) for the Edmonton Oilers in a 3-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Place to become the first NHL player to 100 points this season.
The forward has 102 points (39 goals, 63 assists) in 65 games) and leads Pastrnak by 11 points in the race for the Art Ross Trophy given to the player who leads the NHL in points at the end of the regular season. Draisaitl is the first Oilers skater to reach the milestone in 65 games or fewer since Mark Messier in 1989-90 (100 points; 34 goals, 66 assists in 62 games) and the first from any team since Kucherov in 62 games (100 points; 30 goals, 70 assists) last season. Eight other different players since 1993-94 have accomplished the feat.

The Oilers (34-23-8) moved past the Canucks (34-24-6) by two points for second in the Pacific Division.

Blues, Avalanche extend winning streaks

The St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche, the top two teams in the Central Division, extended their respective winning streaks.
Ryan O'Reilly had an assist and scored the only goal in the shootout to give the Blues (39-17-10) their seventh straight win, 4-3 against the Dallas Stars at Enterprise Center. St. Louis has won at least seven in a row for the third time this season (7-0-0 from Oct. 27-Nov. 9 and 8-0-0 from Dec. 12-29) and is the second defending Stanley Cup champion with three separate winning streaks of at least seven during the following season. The Montreal Canadiens did so in 1977-78 before winning their third of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships.
Pavel Francouz made 30 saves for the Avalanche in a 3-2 victory against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Colorado (39-18-7) won its sixth consecutive game and eighth in a row on the road, the longest streak in Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques history, and is three points behind first-place St. Louis.
Francouz is 6-0-0 with a 1.32 goals-against average, .957 save percentage and one shutout since Feb. 19, allowing two goals or fewer in each game. The undrafted goalie, who
signed a two-year contract Feb. 22
, is 5-0-0 with a 1.38 GAA, .957 save percentage and one shutout on the road since Feb. 9.
