Doc Emrick

Mike Emrick, the lead play-by-play voice for telecasts of "NHL on NBC", will be inducted into the National Sports Media Association Hall of Fame during the 60th annual NSMA Awards Weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on June 22-24.

Emrick was among honorees voted into the Hall of Fame by NSMA members. Since Emrick's broadcasting career began as the voice of the minor league Port Huron Flags in 1973, he's won the Foster Hewitt Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2008, six Emmy Awards for excellence in sports broadcasting and became the first member of the media to be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame on Dec. 12, 2011.
Emrick will join Bob Ley of ESPN, Peter King of NBCSports.com and Tony Kornheiser, co-host of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption," as NSMA Hall of Fame inductees.
