Lovejoy retire

Will Ben Lovejoy's post-NHL life involve him entering the Witness Protection Program and becoming a shipping merchant named Lord Rupert Everton who raises fancy dogs? We'll never know, but the defenseman did invoke "The Office" boss Michael Scott when he announced his retirement on Twitter.

Lovejoy, who played 11 seasons in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils and Dallas Stars, first announced his retirement
Wednesday on NHL Network
.
On Thursday, he posted a black and white photo of himself looking pensively into the distance with a white board similar to the one the TV boss used to post the famous quote, "'You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. - Wayne Gretzky' - Michael Scott."
Only Lovejoy's white board had a quote with another reference to Steve Carell's character, who once loudly declared bankruptcy.

I DECLARE BANKRUPTCY!!! - The Office US
Much like bankruptcy and the Witness Protection Program, retirement is nature's do-over and offers a fresh start, so cheers to Lovejoy in wherever life takes him.
