Defenseman Dan Boyle is expected to retire Wednesday after 17 NHL seasons.
The San Jose Sharks announced Monday they will host a press conference for Boyle to discuss his future.

Boyle, 40, played 431 games and had 68 goals and 201 assists in six seasons with the Sharks from 2008-14. He finished fifth in Norris Trophy voting for the 2008-09 season, when he had 16 goals and 41 assists in 77 games, and sixth for 2009-10, when he had 15 goals and 43 assists in 76 games.
Boyle, who won the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004, played the past two seasons with the New York Rangers. He scored 163 goals and 605 points in 1,093 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers, Lightning, Sharks and Rangers.
