Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This article includes expensive and value plays and should be used as a basis for your roster decision-making.

TOP CENTER: Mark Scheifele, WPG ($6,500)
The line of Scheifele, rookie standout Patrik Laine and Mathieu Perreault has been as strong as any League-wide in recent games. Scheifele has multipoint games in five of his past six, Perreault has a five-game point streak with three multipoint games, and Laine has a six-game point streak with five multipoint games. Scheifele has 30 points in 29 home games and five points in two against the St. Louis Blues, so stack him and Perreault ($4,000) without thinking twice.
VALUE CENTER: Henrik Zetterberg, DET ($5,300)
Zetterberg is quietly better than a point per game since Jan. 24 (17 points in 14 games) on the Detroit Red Wings' top line and first power-play unit. The 36-year-old has bounced back with 48 points in 61 games after scoring 50 in 82 last season. It's hard to believe his price is so low, so take advantage when he faces the Calgary Flames; he has 27 points in 30 road games.

TOP WING: Patrick Kane, CHI ($8,100)
Kane is a top-five fantasy asset regardless of format for the second-straight season, and it doesn't get any better than his past three games. The Chicago Blackhawks right wing has two hat tricks, totaling eight points and 13 SOG for an average of 10.8 DraftKings points per game. The New York Islanders will be on the second of a back-to-back set, and value center Nick Schmaltz ($4,400) proved he can step in when needed for Artem Anisimov (lower body), who left the game Wednesday. Schmaltz had two assists centering Kane.
VALUE WING: Mitchell Marner, TOR ($5,500)
Marner was held without a point in his return to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup on Tuesday, but DFS owners should take advantage of his price drop from $6,000 on Feb. 15 (game prior to injury absence). The Anaheim Ducks could easily come out flat after their break and goalie John Gibson is dealing with a lower-body injury. Marner, who has 48 points in 57 games, has a better DraftKings points per game average than Johnny Gaudreau ($6,200) yet is $700 cheaper.
TOP DEFENSEMAN: Colton Parayko, STL ($4,600)
Parayko, one of the potential winners among
defensemen after the NHL Trade Deadline
, should see major minutes and significant power-play time at the Winnipeg Jets. As dominant as the Jets' offense has been since the turn of the calendar year (3.44 goals per game), their defense remains a liability (3.52 allowed per game in span). All four of Parayko's goals have come on the power play, and his heavy shot volume (147) should translate well to his expanded role after the St. Louis Blues traded Kevin Shattenkirk to the Washington Capitals.

VALUE DEFENSEMAN: Mark Streit, PIT ($3,600)
Streit's debut for the Pittsburgh Penguins comes at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have won 12 of 32 road games. With Kris Letang, Trevor Daley and Olli Maatta dealing with injuries, Streit has a chance to see some power-play time with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel. He had 52 points, 30 on the power play, two seasons ago for the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Lightning are allowing the fifth-most DraftKings points to opposing defensemen.
GOALIE SPOTLIGHT: Cam Ward, CAR ($7,900)
Ward is 15-7-2 with a .916 save percentage and two shutouts at home, and his counterpart, Louis Domingue of the Arizona Coyotes, has poor road splits (2-10-1; .871 SV%). After a three-game winning streak, Ward is 0-3-2 with 16 goals allowed in his past five games. That said, this is a bounce-back situation for Ward, especially after coach Bill Peters reaffirmed his commitment to the veteran goalie over backup Eddie Lack.
