New Jersey Devils goalie Cory Schneider will be assigned to Albany of the American Hockey League for a conditioning assignment on Monday, the Devils announced Sunday.
Schneider, who has been out since sustaining a Grade 1 sprain of his MCL in his right knee March 4 against the Dallas Stars, will be placed on injured reserve retroactive to March 4.

The plan is for the 2016 NHL All-Star to practice with Albany on Monday before returning to the Devils for the morning skate Tuesday ahead of their game against the Boston Bruins at Prudential Center (7 p.m. ET; NESN, MSG, SNO, SNP, SNW, TVA Sports, NHL.TV).
Schneider, 30, is 26-23-6 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .923 save percentage in 55 games this season.
New Jersey plays at the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday (5 p.m. ET; MSG+, FS-CR, NHL.TV).
