The Columbus Crew used the 80th minute of their game on Saturday to tribute the late
Matiss Kivlenieks
.

The Columbus Blue Jackets goalie died in a tragic fireworks at the age of 24 on July 4 while
saving the lives of teammate
Elvis Merzlikins, his pregnant wife and many others.

The moment came at the game's 80th minute because Kivlenieks wore No. 80 for the Blue Jackets.
Crew fans raised their scarves as an image of Kivlenieks was put up on the scoreboard.

The Blue Jackets were very appreciative of the gesture. There was also a large tifo displayed by fans.
