The Colorado Avalanche will attempt to defeat the Nashville Predators for the first time in five games this season. The Avalanche are 0-4-0 against the Predators and have been outscored 17-9. "They're a dangerous team and get a lot of help offensively from their back end, which can be tough to deal with sometimes," coach Jared Bednar said. "They're active. They're up in the play in the offensive zone. They have a lot of movement, so that's a challenge to defend against. We've had some decent games against them, but it's always a challenge to defend against this group." The Avalanche are 1-6-1 in their past eight games and 1-10-1 in their past 12 road games. "We just talk about narrowing our focus and just taking it one game at a time," Bednar said. "We haven't gotten some of the results we've wanted. With where we're at in the standings, it's hard to look at big picture. Just trying to incrementally improve every night, make sure that we're focused and we're playing hard and we're doing the right things so we can keep progressing our team to where we want to be."
