Blackhawks defenseman faces discipline from NHL for illegal check on Blues forward Ty Rattie

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson will have a telephone hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for a charging and an illegal check to the head of St. Louis Blues forward Ty Rattie.

The incident occurred at 18:55 of the third period of the preseason game at United Center. Hjalmarsson received a match penalty.
The Blackhawks defeated the Blues 4-0.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: charging/illegal check. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
